After my recent struggles with mental issues/mental challenges, that included, stress, anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts, I’ve been doing a lot of research on the subject to really get myself up to speed as best as possible. http://bit.ly/JamesMentalHealthArticle
I came across his recent HBO documentary “A Dangerous Son” A Dangerous Son Documentary in which the lives of three young people and their families are covered extensively for some time, to watch the progression not only of the mental illnesses, but also the tremendous stress and burden that it places upon the family, as the parents seek support, help, and understanding for their children that are dealing with mental illness.
It’s really shocking, but very well done. It shows just how devastating mental health issues and challenges can be not only to the individual but for everyone concerned.
Of course, young people being young people, they don’t quite understand exactly what it is are dealing with and going through, so it’s really up to the parents and the adults in the young person’s life, to be able to take an objective look at the behaviors, physical appearances, periodic outburst, that seem to be totally “out of the norm” and not part of a young person just going through adolescence.
You’ll find this documentary, a great resource whether you know of anybody going through mental health issues or not.
